I've been into photography since I was little. My first camera was a 110mm, and I stuck with that format until I was almost 20, when a friend noticed I loved photography but didn't have a decent camera and gave me a 35mm. That same year, one of my aunts helped me set up a small darkroom and I began getting into printmaking. Some of my photos have been hung in local cafes, and a series titled "Do Not Use These Knockouts" was shown in the Carpathian Gallery in Hamilton in 1998.

The earliest photos shown here were taken with a Pentax Espio 100, on Kodak, Fuji and Ilford films, usually between 200 and 400 speed. In 2004, after using a borrowed Sony Cybershot for a year or so, I was given a Canon A60, a nice little digital point-and-shoot that, much like my old Pentax, was small enough to go anywhere, but big enough to take some reasonably good pictures. Unfortunately my apartment was broken into in 2008 and my camera was among the things that were stolen. I replaced it with a Nikon D40, and I now use a mix of digital and vintage film lenses.
